Hi all,
Following is a list of surgical procedures, to help anyone who is transgendered, and interested, to understand the enhancement options available to them.
Orchiectomy
This procedure is a very common one undergone by trans-women pre-SRS, and consists of having the testicles removed. The benefits of this are obvious, as testosterone distribution is centered around the testes, having them removed will increase the effectiveness of HRT, whilst stopping testosterone distribution completely.
SRS - Sex Reassignment Surgery - Vaginoplasty
This is probably the most commonly known procedure, that consists of converting the penis, and scrotum, into a neo-vagina. This is obviously one of the most prominent procedures undergone by trans-woman, and is often considered by some(trans-women) to be the pinnacle in completion of their transition.
FFS - Facial Feminization Surgery
Another of the more popular procedures among trans-women, FFS consists of alteration of facial features, to make the patient appear more feminine. Often, where it is necessary, this procedure is considered as important, if not more so, than SRS. The following lists some of the areas that are worked on:
Rib Removal And Abdominoplasty
This procedure is also common between both trans, and cis women, which is consisting of a "tummy tuck", and usually the removal of 4 of the lower ribs, leaving the patient with a more shaped abdomen, and a smaller waist line, believed to give the patient a more hour-glass shape.
Breast Augmentation
Consisting of the insertion of two usually silicone-based implants to into the chest area, underneath the nipple, to enhance the breasts where HRT failed to produce a more prominent bosom.
Buttock And Hip Augmentation
Usually this procedure consists of the insertion of a gluteal implant into the pocket of the buttock. The benefits of this procedure are not commonly spoken about amongst trans-women, but they surely must not go unnoticed. Because of the area in which the implant is inserted, a certain degree of definitive enhancement to the hip area may also be achieved. Giving an overall feminine shape which is often not achieved with just HRT alone.

Often, where it is necessary, this procedure is considered as important, if not more so, than SRS. The following lists some of the areas that are worked on:
- Forehead
Often this area can be problematic due the difference in structure, between the male, and female skull. A male forehead is commonly characterized as having a prominent brow bone, and high hairline. - Trachea
Work in this area often consist of the removal of layers to reduce the prominence of a large 'adams apple'. - Jaw and chin
Another problematic area for trans-women is the jaw and chin, which in males will usually be characterized by, and appear more elongated, and broad. This procedure consists of the reshaping of these features to appear more feminine. - Nose
Again, as observed in males, this area can often be more prominent, and being one of the more obvious features important to shape of the face, having your nose reshaped can make the biggest of differences. - Ears
Large ears is a common factor taken into consideration when trans-women undergo FFS. Again, this procedure will consist of reshaping, and repositioning of the ears. - Injections
Surgical enhancement injections are common both among trans-women, and cis-women. The type can vary from botox to hide harsh lines, to silicone to re-plump features, and areas, and to enhance overall shape. - Facial implants
This being a more permanent solution to the above problem, is often more popular for both trans-women, and cis-women. - Facelift
A procedure that is again popular with both trans-women, and cis-women, consisting of the lifting, and tightening of skin(usually from the hairline). - Skin Resurfacing
Another one popular amongst both trans, and cis women is the resurfacing of dead skin layers to decrease of obviousness of hard lines, and/or scar tissue on the face, but can also be extended to other body areas.
